چکیده
Archaeology operates in an increasingly data-mediated world which data drive knowledge and actions about people things. Famously, has been characterized as “the new oil”, underpinning modern economies at the root of many technological transformations society large, even assuming a near-religious power over thought action. In archaeology, wider world, foundation knowledge, but its capacity rarely reflected upon. This paper offers just such reflection: meditation on nature digital challenges (re)use. It asks what we understand data: etymology comprehension, exceptionality mutability, constructs infrastructures, origins consequences. The concept imaginary introduced to better approaches collection use data, case study examines how mediated remediated through embedded grey literature. Appreciating volatility unpredictability key understanding potential reuse creation knowledge.

Digital Support for Archaeology
We describe an interdisciplinary approach in which computer scientists develop techniques to support archaeology. In the Reading Images for the Cultural Heritage (RICH) project, a variety of methods have been developed to support archaeologists in the visualization, categorization, and characterization of archaeological objects, such as medieval glass, coins, ceramics, and seeds. The methods ar...

In Nautical Archaeology, the study of components and objects creates a complex environment for scholars and researchers. Nautical archaeologists access, manipulate, study, and consult a variety of sources from different media, geographical origins, ages, and languages. Representing underwater excavations is a challenging endeavor due to the large amount of information and data in heterogeneous ...
متن کاملA Manifesto for an Introspective Digital Archaeology
This paper presents a grand challenge for Digital Archaeology of a different kind: it is not technical in and of itself, it does not seek out technological solutions for archaeological problems, it does not propose new digital tools or digital methodologies as such. Instead, it proposes a broader challenge, one which addresses the very stuff of archaeology: an understanding of how digital techn...

In the paper aspect of comparability alternatives in decision making problem by imprecise or incomplete information isexamined. In particular, new definitions of transitivity based on the measure of the intensity preference between pairsof alternatives in epistemic and ontic case is presented and its application to solve decision making problem is proposed.
